Kieanna Childs Alexander believes in empowering ordinary people through their everyday lives. She is a native of Trenton New Jersey where she was educated within the Gifted and Talented Program and graduated from McCorristin Catholic High School.
She went on to earn an Associate in Arts in General Studies, a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies Applied Social Sciences, a Master of Arts in Human Services Specializing in Executive Leadership, completed all coursework pending dissertation Phd in Public Policy and Administration, earned a certificate in Human Resources Management, a certificate in New Jersey and Pennsylvania Real Estate of which she is licensed in New Jersey.
In addition, she earned a certificate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Cornell University, a certificate of completion in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Building Awareness from Rutgers University, completed the University of California, San Francisco Reparations and Anti-Institutional Racism Initiative teach-in certificate program and she participated and completed Harvard University's Schooling for Critical Consciousness of Racism and Racial Injustice.
Kieanna earned the nationally recognized Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification from Rutgers University of which she successfully authored her final capstone entitled, "Morale Building: Bridging the Gap Between Executive and Subordinate Staff" and she is a certified New Jersey Disaster Response Crisis Counselor (NJ DRCC).
A gifted writer, she is the author of "Not Your Cup of Tea: 21 Day Affirmation Journal", as well as a powerful speaker, brainchild and founder of Envuzion Group llc., a personal development and community advocacy consulting group that strives to provide clients with insight on personal development and advocacy resources and tools.
Throughout the years, Kieanna has diligently served her community and has been appointed to several Board of Director positions including the Mercer County Meals on Wheels Board of Directors, Martin House Learning Center Board of Directors, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) Board of Trustees and she is the past New Jersey PTA Board of Directors where she served as the state Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chair. She has also previously served on the Trenton Circus Squad Board of Directors where she served as a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and the inaugural Chair of the HR Committee as well as the Board of Directors for the League of Women Voters Lawrence Township.
As a testament to her life calling, Kieanna has given her heart and time to numerous community organizations including the Hamilton YMCA Special Kids Organized Recreation (SKOR) where she served as a youth basketball coach to physically and mentally disabled youth, Mercer County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) of which she was a part of the 1st graduating class and as a reserve corps member, was active with assisting during Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Irene and she was highly instrumental during the national Covid-19 pandemic working closely with staff to ensure vaccinations reached historically disadvantaged individuals including disabled community members.
She is a past mentor for the Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Mentoring Program at Trenton Central High School
and she has also given her talents to the Hamilton Township Adult Learning Advisory Council, Hamilton Township Board of Education in which she was an active member of the Affirmative Action Committee and the Hamilton Township Board of Education District Community Relations Committee, served as 2nd Vice-President of Membership for the PTA and she is a current member of Better Community Housing of Trenton Advisory Board in Trenton New Jersey which seeks to empower home ownership amongst residents.
Kieanna is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lily of the Valley Chapter #22, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Pi Alpha Alpha and Sigma Alpha Pi. She is the former Mrs. Mercer County of which she competed in the Mrs. New Jersey Pageant. Kieanna's pageant platform was Conquering Ovarian and Prostate Cancer.
She is a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) of which she has served as an active member of the Trenton Branch, an Executive Committee Member, Youth Council Advisor, Chair of the Women in the NAACP (WIN), 3rd Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President and was ultimately elected uncontested as President. Kieanna also had the pleasure of accompanying prominent scholar Dr. Cornel West, alongside NAACP officials, into the prison chapter of the NAACP, established an award and grant winning family read along which promoted literacy.
Kieanna’s most heartfelt achievement with the NAACP was having the opportunity to successfully lead over 25 voter registration drives throughout Mercer County while empowering and encouraging community members to exercise their right to vote.
In 2019, she was appointed by the President of Rider University to the President’s Council on Inclusion where she contributed to the historical movement to establish and launch the Inclusive Excellence Plan which serves as a road map to the university’s commitments to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. She serves as the lead committee member of the Institutional Commitment Committee within the Council.
A passionate warrior for women and children, she is the past 3rd Vice-President, 1st Vice President and Bethune Heights Recognition Program (BHRP) Team Leader for the Mercer County Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW).
In September of 2020 and again in December 2022, she was elected by the national body to serve as an At-Large National Executive Committee Board of Directors member of NCNW. In 2024, she was again elected by the national body to serve on the national Nominating Committee at which time a national resolution she authored was accepted and also voted by the national body. She has served and been appointed to the inaugural national NCNW Social Justice Committee and she has previously served as the co-chair of the national NCNW Resolutions Committee of which she was a presenter during the 60th national convention.
Professionally, she has been affiliated with the Public Sector HR Association (PSHR), the Human Capital Institute and the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) of which she was the 1st ever recipient of the national foundations Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award presented to her in San Francisco California. In 2021, she served on the inaugural SHRM Foundation HR Talent Accelerator Mentorship Experience as a mentor to rising HR professionals.
Kieanna is a loving wife, mother of 2 adorable sons and a benefactor of farm animals, medicine and bed nets to families in Africa.
During her spare time, she can be found at a record store collecting vinyl's, spinning records on her DJ controller and as a land owner, her ultimate wish is to transform parcels of land into tiny house communities for low income earners.
